Team Molly 2011
We have officially launched our 2011 Team Molly campaign. Ovarian Cancer Awareness, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association and The Rendon Group have partnered together in this awareness campaign alerting women to the symptoms and warning signs of ovarian cancer. Although ovarian cancer is less common in young women, it does happen and we believe it is important to educate women and men of all ages. By learning about symptoms at an early age, young women can educate themselves and the women in their families. Team Molly is an education effort which bears the name of a brave young woman and all-star athlete, Molly Eisenberg from Lexington, Massachusetts. In 2009, at just 19 years old, Molly lost her battle with ovarian cancer. Team Molly encourages high school students to educate their peers and family, reminding them to take care of themselves through exercise, doctor visits, a healthy lifestyle and awareness.

Team Molly Campaign
For the past five years, the Massachusetts Ovarian Cancer Awareness has teamed up with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) to promote ovarian cancer awareness with student athletes for the month of September. Last year, we lost a dear friend and all-star athlete, Molly Eisenberg of Lexington, MA to ovarian cancer. Molly was only 19 years old, but lived life to the fullest every day.
Inspired by Molly's heroic fight, The Ovarian Cancer Awareness Coalition, the MIAA and Reebok have been encouraged to create a campaign focused on ovarian cancer awareness and education, called Team Molly.
Team Molly symbolizes sportsmanship and teamwork, both on and off the field. TEAM MOLLY encourages high school students to educate their peers and family members on staying healthy, reminding them to take care of themselves, through exercise, doctors visits, a healthy lifestyle and awareness.
We are asking all sports teams to join TEAM MOLLY and help us create awareness at their schools about ovarian cancer, especially at home games/matches during September 20-25.
Together, in our effort to educate and raise awareness on ovarian cancer, we are all one team.
Lexington High School will be holding Volley for Molly on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Lexington High School. Watch the Lexington HS Girls Varsity Volleyball team take on the Reading High Varsity Volleyball team.
